About

pfasnearme shows what public water checks found in the tap water of every French commune. We measure nothing ourselves. We read the results the regional health agencies publish on Hub'eau, put them on one page per commune and compare them with three numbers, the EU limit, Sweden's limit and our own 0.5 ng/L health benchmark.

The site is built and maintained by its two founders. We made it because the data already existed but nobody could read it without knowing what a microgram per litre is. Mistakes are possible. If you see one, write to us and we fix it.

Data and reuse

Measurements come from Hub'eau, Qualité de l'eau potable (Ministère de la Santé / OFB / BRGM), published under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence (Etalab). Every page shows the sample date and the refresh date. pfasnearme's own texts, calculations and charts may be reused freely as long as you credit pfasnearme and link to the page concerned. The full list of sources per country and their licences is on the Data sources and licences page.

How we chose 0.5 ng/L

This site is a data project, not an official source. If in doubt, check with your water supplier or local authority.
